Identifying problems that really need solved will help you be happy.

The first five minutes of any Marvel movie will demonstrate what we mean. Those guys know which problems to solve.
We normal humans should be no different.
Our problems aren’t cataclysmic or involve the whole universe, but they’re a pain nonetheless. Cars breaking down, friends needing favors, illnesses, financial issues, difficulty at work, relationship roller coasters, pets…
Life’s unexpected surprises.
There are internal problems…

“I wish I had the guts to start a business.”

“Why am I so afraid to make changes?”

I REPEAT…IS FOREST GUMP SMARTER THAN ME??
And our external problems…

Buffy eats tons of fettuccini yet I explode with a spoonful of macaroni.

All the parking spaces are gone and now I’m late.

There’s a tsunami warning and my car just died.
Many problems in our lives are completely unsolvable.

World peace.

The calorie intake in a double layered fudge brownie.

Your height.
We’ll get to the point.
To feel better and stay productive, lets focus on the problems we can’t solve.
What?
We know.
It doesn’t make sense.
But stay with us because there’s a some gold at the end of the rainbow.
First off, you’re not alone. No one can fix ALL their problems. Not any single person no matter how rich, poor, entitled or gifted. Not a President, not a King, not Oprah… not even Meryl Streep. Only God holds such power.

Yet, people spend hours, weeks, and years focusing on the wrong problems in their lives. The very ones they know they can’t change.
You know what I’m talking about because everyone does it.
Here’s an example:
You might have to die someday.
Sorry! But we’re trying to make a point here.
And can you change that?
No.
So why in the world would you want to focus on it?
Worry about it?
Be in fear of it?
A more productive path is to enjoy what’s happening in your life now. Appreciate your blessings. Show gratitude and love for the people near you. Work to be healthy and wise today.
Recognizing what’s truly impossible… and what truly isn’t…is worth discernment. It will save you heartache, energy, and a lot of wasted time.
After you’ve isolated the problems that really can be solved, then get busy! Focus on them. Stay positive and fix the fixable.
Examples.
1. Instead of trying so hard to bring world peace, just bring the peace to your world.
2. Instead of trying to get filthy rich in a new business, just get it started.
3. Instead of looking for a perfect marriage, work for a successful one.
4. Since Buffy won’t get fat, you can get skinnier. Stop eating brownies (well just the double layered fudge ones. No need to go crazy here)
